Next Meeting will be in late summer 2009 - stay tuned!
We had a great meeting in May 2009 at Learning.com and near the end of the meeting, Bill Kelly sought to bring more direction to the cluster by talking about setting up a subcommittee to have a discussion around the opportunities and challenges facing Oregon-based education companies and how to best lobby state and local agencies. Now we are looking for members of the subcommittee.
The subcommittee will discuss the common problems and solutions facing our cluster education organizations and identify potential areas of economic benefit through working together.
Discussion questions:
* What are the biggest challenges are cluster firms facing operating an education business here in Oregon in the next 12 months?
* What makes Oregon (and/or Portland ) an attractive place for your business?
* What could make Portland even better for firms in the education industry?
* What additional companies and services would you wish to attract to Portland ?
* What can local and state governments do to help drive economic development of the educational industries in the next 12 months?
Please let me know if you are interested in being on the subcommittee, answering these questions and/or putting together some documents that can be outward facing for local and state officials.
